I was going to comment that it's nice to see the expert be so polite to his staff but I realized what I'm seeing is a great comunicaoor with a positive attitude. Not all expert artists are so forthcoming. Gorgeous work .

also, whoever it is that did the surface grind on that marver deserves a bonus. that criss cross pattern is as perfect as it was unintentional. even the marver is art!

one of my favorite glassblowers as narrated by the professor who taught me to blow glass. how amazing is that? Im so honored to have been taught by an amazing glassmaker like Helen, and been able to speak to Jeff a couple of times as well. The level of skill building they have both done is magnificent. they have both mastered technique, and employed it to make a statement. its just awesome and im so happy they get to do what they love.

and sorry miss, no music in the edit LOL. but you know, i like the calm quiet hum of white hotshop noise. i havent had the chance to blow glass in a long time. i didnt realize how much i missed that hum. and the smell of slightly toasted cherry wood. and beeswax. thanks for the walk down memory lane in addition to exposure to a pretty sweet technique :)

Curious as to why a bunch of your past students are saying your school doesn’t believe a kiln is necessary for their final product. Apparently y’all are teaching this method. Can you please expand on that because that makes no sense. Also the products they sale are 🗑️ they break sooo fast

2 hours of work and the glass drooped out of place in 2 spots on the edge for an awkward pause at the end. Still beautiful, but I wonder if the artist decided to scrap it because of that.

If you are a glassblower, this video only becomes more impressive. I was amazed by how cold most of the piece was throughout the video. He's demonstrating absolutely impeccable temperature control, not to mention working without assistance. The whole thing was just sort of crazy. There's a reason goblets like this are considered the apex of venitian style I suppose.
